Bishop Eddie Long
Bishop Eddie Long’s case is one of the most damaging scandals to hit the Black church. He’s currently being accused for coercing four young men into sexual relationships. While Bishop Long is fighting those charges, he has since become a media sensation and the newest poster child for “what is wrong with the black church”. As pastor of the 25,000 member New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, he has also endured criticism from fellow clergy who challenged his teachings which pushed that homosexually is “spiritual abortion”.

I was thinking the same thing. Is he on the list because his words made white folks feel uneasy, in return that made some Black folks feel embarrassed-get over the Stockholm syndrome. lmao
What about Rev. Lyons (I think this is his name), the once head of the Southern Baptist Churh. He committed adultery used church funds to finance extra marital affair including buying a house for his mistress. The house burned down, he was exposeed, fired and jailed.

Dr. Lyons was the President of the National Baptist Convention USA, INC., not the Southern Baptist. He served his time and is out preaching the word.
I wish these people can just clothe themselves in the label of motivational speakers. You cannot represent God with ungodly words. Attacking ‘white’ people is not of God. Speaking on sin, regardless of race, is different. This person came across a racist. I don’t want to serve a racist God. sorry.

Had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Wright personally. He shared with us that the media paid $10,000 for any videos of him. They went through those videos and picked out short segments that didn’t mean what he was really saying. He is gracious, intelligent, a man of integrity and a preacher’s preacher.
Pastor Wright is not too far off the mark, America does not embrace all of it’s citizens. Look at what the muslim community is dealing with. White folks don;t like hearing the truth about themselves. God Damn America!
Juanita Bynum is not even a college graduate. Referring to herself as “Doctor” is insulting to people who take their academic studies seriously and work hard to achieve success in their studies.
Reverend Wright’s current wife was previously married and her and former husband went to Wright for marriage counselling. Of course they were not able to patch their marriage but guess who she wind up marrying shortly thereafter????

But this is the problem. “I do love his preaching though?” What the heck! This is why these warped persons who say they are so called by God get away with their mess. Worse is that they are leaders, examples for others and you wonder why churches are soaked in sin? Why people who supposedly get saved or not staying saved or living a saved life? Why should they when the very person who is acting as their spiritual advisor, leader, father, etc. etc. is showing them how to live worldly in acts but profess Christ with their mouth. Shut them down by walking away. Don’t plant your feet on unholy ground. period. Anybody can talk the talk. Even the devil (according to the Bible) knows scripture but he cannot live Holy. So anybody can be a convincing speaker. I mean, it is not like the Word doesn’t speak for itself. They are just reading and presenting it in their or vernacular or style.

It’s so sad that many Southern Black Churches has aligned themselves with other religion over the last five years, letting insider’s infiltrate their foundation. If these charges are false, with members of our Black Race “paid” or “promised new house” and/or “life employment without working”, to bring down a very good Black Pastor: who has worked very hard to reach-out with God’s love to empower our Black Men in Jesus name, just to destroy the Black Communities, than mental slavery is born, and all powerless Black Communities, or powerless Black people like myself, will never receive fairness under the United State Constitution Civil law systems, especially under our civil law system as I have stated in my Civil Habeas Corpus in the United States Supreme Court from 2001 -2009.
Yes, I tried for a Civil Habeas Corpus for years to address the civil retaliation my children and I suffered for standing up for the right’s in a civil suit. But, when defendants are will connected, they will uses “Black V. Black” to damage your reputation, just to win the civil suit, and destroy any black children to accomplish the bottom line.

Truth is this, God called Moses to the mountaintop and gave him the Ten Commandments. God also gave Moses additional laws for the Israelites to follow. The Ten Commandments teach basic morality.The First Four teaches us how to have a good relationship with God. The next six teaches us how to have a good relationship with other people. Please, take time and study them.(Exodus 20: 3 – 17) Bishop Eddie Long and his entire congregation needs to go back and study “GOD”s Laws” Not Eddie Long’s. He will suffer the consequences forever.

That was not a scandel. Pastor Dollar makes his earnings of of his own best sellers and publications. Not to mention he has also tithed…He is now reaping the harvest that is due to him…I will continue to tithe into his church. I also think as the body of Christ we need to pray for Bishop Eddie long and everyone involved. Not everyone that has a church is called and onointed. Not every mega church is blessed, and not because a pastor has a lot of money means he is blessed…Black people wake up, stop associating money with being blessed!!! as christian we should judge those that are in the church..I heard dollar said that himself….any pastor that tell people they are not blessed and will never received from God unless they tithe. Will be help accountable, for God blesses who He pleases. Futhermore the tithe was not hang on a Cross Jesus was. You are so right. I had a friend a mine say the other day when she was playing “The lotto” God now you know i pay my Tithes every week I know I can win this one. It makes me soooo mad just listening to her also sayin this morning that she cant miss church today cause she havent been in two sundays and she want to get that chysler 300 (SMH) I dont sit up in church every sunday and I have missed paying my tithes but God blesses me when i wake up in the morning and I also have my wonderful family I dont have much but I work and enjoy my job that I have been blessed wit, sometimes money be the very thing that will mess up a happy and blessed home some things we have and dont have is for a reason. And these preachers need to stop selling hope cause you got people buying it like crazy!!!! What do you mean believe it or not? Prove it? Every tree bears its fruit..but please know what type of tree it is before you call an apple an orange. do you even know Long is a Mason? People get a life, the internet has been bogged down with Eddie Long. If we spend more time focusing on our own salvation in place of trying to stone Eddie, God says. “Let a man examine HIMSELF” God will judge HIM and not in the media He knows this. Why don’t we all take this ENGERY expended upon HIM and do something to show LOVE and HELP our brothers and sisters in NEED our neighbors. @ Angel; I can appreciate your comments and I do agree the church should pray. However, I disagree with your comment regarding touch not my anointed and Bishop Eddie Long being anointed. The anointing does not follow sin. In other words the minute Bishop Eddie Long decided to sin the anointing was no longer dwelling in his life. God is not so desperate that he needs to live in a house (heart) where sin dwells. And the anointing did not leave him; he left the anointing.
And While the Church is praying to cover Bishop Eddie Long, they need to pray to cover those victims. Bishop Long has been in the way too long to have placed himself in this type of situation. Even if he didn’t sleep with them something happened.
And we as saints are so busy trying to protect the man of God we forget about the victims and the pain they must be experiencing along with their families.
Bishop Eddie Long is just a man who happens to be used by God. He is no different than anyone else and if he is wrong and caused the pain we are now hearing about he deserves to be criticized and rebuked even by the non-christians as he was to be the example to draw the unsaved.
See the problem is the Church Leaders will no longer rebuke these Mega cons because of the money and influence they bring. This tells me it’s no longer about saving souls and winning over the non-believers but it’s all about money and prestige.
Our focus is no longer on Jesus Christ; our focus is now on MAN!! So yes we are supposed to pray, but the bible says watch as well as pray and put your faith in NO MAN because man will fail you.
The church has become so far removed from the truth “we” have allowed his name (JESUS) to be mocked.
So let’s not get upset over the exposure because GOD is not going to allow his people (sheep) to be ignored. God will expose sin. Hopefully Bishop Long will REPENT and get this thing right so he is able to get back on track with the LORD and do what God called him to do. And that saints should be our prayer!!!!!

He did wrong and will be judge by ‘God’ but we can’t continue to try to act as if this paster did nothing wrong. He’s not the victim the ones he made have sex or had sex with is the ones who’s the victim.
I agree with you, with regards to Mr. Longs. anointing, if he was truly anointed by God, he would not have fallen to this extent. He would have been convicted by his own workk and not continued to mocked God the way he has. I’m sute before this is over there will to be more victims than we can believe possible. You are right in that he was called by God and believe me his true judgement will come from our God. God can use a donkey to speak the word so that man can be saved. It is not the vessel that is ‘saving people’ but the Word that brings salavation! I’m not judging Creflo or any of the others but I am saying, read the Bible for yourself and get to know God yourself and you will learn that a lot, and I mean a lot, of these people are making money off of the Word. It doesn’t matter if it is publications, online, speaking engagements, etc. if indeed the very root is founded upon their position as a religious figure. Do you get it???
It’s unfortunate that many preachers are called and don’t wait to become totally sanctified and cleaned for service before they start preaching/pastoring. If they would wait and make sure that they stay clean, they wouldn ‘t have to apologize for their acts of the flesh: greed, sexual affairs, and molestation. I’m ok with mega churches just as long as the wealth is spread throughout the church. No one in those churches should be hurting for money. Some of the money should go toward helping those less fortunate in the congregation – especially if they pay their tithes. Ministers are in place to help explain the word through the revelation of the Holy Ghost, but regular lay members need to also seek God for themselves in prayer and ask for God for revelation of the Word so that when the Word comes across from the pulpit is just confirmation of what God has already told them. That would keep them from sleeping with their pastor because they would know that he/she is acting against God’s Word.
The problem is with the calling! These men are called by men, and not by God. God wants men who have gone thru the fire and come out ready to dedicate their lives to him. Does that sound like Eddie Long.

Called to ministry?? this proves that you do not know the Bible. God called saints in the old testiment to ministry. No one was called under the new law. If you desire to follow in Jesus’s foot steph than that is your choice. We are all considered ministers if we are doing His will. It is not sitting in the build 90% of the time and not going out into the world proclaming the gospel. 95% of black churces are guilty of not obeying what were asked to do. We go to the building, sing, clap, stomp and shout, pay our money and go homes until the next Sunday. When will we ever learn enough on Sunday morning, in Sunday school adn bible study to take our traing beyond the walls of the buildings? These churches are like cults. I was once a member of one of these church and I felt guilty every Sunday because I was told, I wasn’t blessed because I could not give tithe, offering, first fruit and money while the pastor was preaching…and if our spirit condemn us how can we receive from God? I depend on the Lord and love Him with all my heart believing in the works of Jesus Christ and when I give I do so because as a christian I know God expect me to help my brothers and sisters, it’s my reasonable service. If your motive for attending one of these mega churches is to get rich, be blessed with money that is not a good reason to go to church….There are lots of misguided christians…they think everyone else is a sinner and they a so holy…yet the bible says we are all sinners scum of the earth and are saved only by the blood of Jesus , not man made rules or ten step programs…………
God would not pick a person to serve him, and exploit them, especially a child. You know, I learned there are more mentally ill and irrational people who walk among sane people. I see by some of the comments the evidence to that fact. People who are abusive find a way to make it happen, but getting positions that are close to the victims. This does not excuse the so-called child molestor, and rapist of children! We do not have all the facts on Mr. Eddie Long or the others but if we are honest, we can say there is indeed a problem going on in churches across the nation. It doesn’t matter if it is black or white or green; there is indeed a problem. Holiness for many has been replaced by the mighty dollar. God will not be mocked. He will reveal the truth but will the people open their eyes and see? Some people are so desperate for worldly hope that they are worshipping these men/women of the altar. Church in so many ways have become nothing more than a club.
The thing is the church is not the doggone building people! It is the people that God called the ‘church.’ It IS NOT the place of your salvation; Jesus is and He wants to take residence in YOU, not a building. Church is a place where we gather to be of one accord and to worship God and be strengthened from sharing the hearing of the word and from the strength of each other’s faith.
You don’t need a $2.5 million (or more) facility to achieve this! Overspending is being a bad steward! In the Bible (that these so called preach or read from), Jesus instructed his disciplines to leave (or sell) everything and follow him. I don’t recall reading that He built expensive, over priced facilities to teach in. His words were more valuable than any building could house Him.
Simply, church has become a business (not all, but you know what I’m saying). These mega-ministries are profiting in anyway they can, i.e. tv, books, speaking engagements, online, in church, etc. and wrapping it up in “self profit.” No, you are profiting off of God’s word since that is why people listen to you – because of your religious status. Something is wrong people! This is not of God and I don’t care who tells you otherwise. At the end of the day it should be about winning souls over to Christ so they too can have their own personal relationship with Him and Hear from Him, themselves. But instead, people lean on these people to ‘read’ the word to them instead of them picking up the Bible and reading themselves. Yes, He said
‘faith comes from hearing the word … but He too said study to prove thy self’. He wanted you to ‘read for yourself’ to know it was real and to know Him in a real way. Now many take that one scripture out of context to manipulate you into thinking if you don’t go to the (church) building and yes, bring your money, you cannot be saved. This is simply a lie!

Having come from a large ‘megachurch’ that went through a sex scandal involving young boys, I must be honest. The language, allegations and response from the pastor is all too familiar. The young boys were also accused of lying and seeking money as a ‘get rich quick’ scheme. In the end, the pastors (yes, there was more than one involved) were convicted and went to jail. Inappropriate photos, gifts, trips and sleepovers were also involved. I am very concerned that we as Christians idolize our leadership and then tell people ‘only God can judge’ or criticize their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ for using common sense! Those who have children… protect your children! Do what you think is right for you and your family no matter what your fellow Christians say or think. Your children are your responsibility!

He gives us freely so we can sow into His Kingdom. Giving God 10 persent tithes or offerings of cash is not bad; what is bad is who you are giving this money to. Agree wholeheartedly. I have ceased referring to my self as “Christian”. We have lost all that is sacred and holy re Jehovah …about our wonderful Savior, Y’shua–Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The Gospel industry is just that–an entertainment industry. Churches have become venues for that entertainment. I AM A BELIEVER IN AND A FOLLOWER OF JESUS, THE CHRIST. There are and there will always be false preachers and teachers, however, I feel that what the True and Living God wants His people to know, he will plant it in their hearts and minds. You know right from wrong, but the wheat will grow up with the traff. Good and Evil those conexist, but there will be a day of seperation. Now all have sinned and come short is what my copy of the Bible reads, therefore as humans we are not perfect and no matter who it is or what position they hold or their station in this life, they are not and cannot be perfect. We make idols of men who are clay just as we are. The true Church that Jesus founded is built on a Himself and is spiritual. His life examples while here on earth were for us to follow and live peacefully among all men. You follow me, said the Paul as I follow Christ, but if you do not know Christ’s teachings you can not hear his voice through His word and you will follow whatever tickles your fanacy. You will not follow Him except when your life issues become issues you cannot handle. Then you cling to his every Word especially the forgivness part. You see, the physical church gatherings are an excercise in socialism, but it is a necessary excercise because the gatherings give hope to those without. Well, I don’t know if any of what I have said makes sense, but Let the Church be the Church. Let the Church get right and go Home. God said He would take care of His Church and that means anyone claiming a part in it. So, if those people who are called by my Name would humble themselves, pray, turn from their wicked ways (And God knows we all have wicked ways because man’s heart is evil continually) Then and only then will our God (Because you may have a different one) will hear from Heaven (a blessed state of mind) and Heal the Land. That is a promise from God to His people, but because men love darkness rather than light our condition is not likely to change any time soon, so there is no reason to blame anyone but each one of ourselves for the pitiful state we are in.
I must be honest and I’m sorry If I’m wrong but I do believe eddie is guilty. Eddie should be tried by a judge and jury like all others that has committed a crime. Eddie is no better than the rest of the pedophiles. He needs to be tried in the court of law.
I don’t know why so many people have found Bishop long guilty before the trial, you are judging him already and you don’t know where all the publicity is true or not. This is so sad to me! Because people who really needs to connect with Jesus will have this to consider. And it’s taking away the true purpose of what a Christian is suppose to be doing with their life and how we should reflect the spirit of Christ in us. I’m not happy about any of this! First of all I think the person who wrote this article needs to look up the word scandal. I read each report from him, or her and more than half of these preachers should not even be on the list. For example Doc. Creflo Dollar, “He drives a Bently”, how stupid is that. So does a lot of other people. should they be on the list as well. Rev Wright, doc Price, The late Rev Ike,all have a right to voice their views. What is so wrong about telling people that they have a right to a better life? The movie stars are the only people that no body attacks, about the cars they drive and the houses they live in. It is time somebody speaks out for the men of God. Get a new list, this one is weak and would not stand up as evidence. This is a very, very, weak report!
Funny how Christians can see or hear the same comments, read the same bible, hear the same preaching, see the same video clips and yet come to completely different conclusions. Whether or not Bishop Long did the things he is accused of, GOD will be the final judge. Remember now, the Bishop has not denied the allegations against him. He simply said, “I am not the man the media is making me out to be”. Let’s just take him at his own words. If a person drinks alcohol, goes out and drives his car, is he a drunk driver or was he just as person who drank and then drove? So, is the Bishop saying, I had sex with those boys, but I am not a sexual preditor or dangerous person? I listened to his sermons and still enjoy listening to his teachings. However, I believe he did do what he is accused of just based on his own actions after the story broke. I believe he will come clean and ask for forgiveness, and will receive it……as he should. We will forgive…….but not forget. It’s just too bad people go on record and put there own reputation on the line, just to find out the person they stood up for confessess and comes clean. Meanwhile, the defender is left looking quite silly. It’s ok to stand behind or even beside the Bishop. Just don’t get too far out in front of him.
I will not make judgment but like you I too pay attention to the details and have too watched him speak via video. I do hope if it is true he will admit to it publicly (because he did these acts publicly in terms of being a public figure) and most importantly, HE SHOULD STEP DOWN FROM HIS POSITION. Yes, he should be forgiven but he shouldn’t mock God by holding this position. I’m not saying that down the line God couldn’t restore him but for now, STEP DOWN and put God first. If guilty, recognize that you tainted that position and need to STEP AWAY. Remove flesh and say okay God, I don’t want people looking at you differently because of me. When members of his/her own congregation can barely pay their utility bills and jobs in our communities today are scarce. What if these same ministers pooled together enough economical leverage to help offset the unemployment today as a way of using this to help heal the savage wall street corruption of this economy? Oh, no. They preach old testament stories and buy new materialistic valubles in the name of wealth. These guys are smart enough to see that they can preach their way out of poverty to a body of people who are CONVINCED they are men of God. PAY ATTENTION TO HOW THE MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, THE DEVIL IS RIGHT IN FRON T OF YOU. THE SAME WAY YOU EXPECT THE GOVERNMENT TO ASSURE SOCIAL SECURITY YOU SHOULD HOLD THESE HUMANS RESPONSIBLE. And then ask yoursel…are these ministers building schools? Employing qualified teachers? Offering scholarships? Do they care about Black History? Do they create businesses to create wealth and employ their own? Are they involved in some charitable cause to help Africa or the Caribbean or other’s in need. NO. I’d be more comfortable with a person whose wealth wa acquired and spread around than one who can point to a number of cars, homes and lofting out in the ocean. If these minister profits can produce a better socieity for our people in a significant way and broad scale and you’ve got enough surplus to own a $15million dollar YACHT…maybe that’s OKAY. But I still question: Why so much money for a yacht? Because you are spoiled, greedy and you’ve developed a narcisstic sense of entitlement that convinces you that God has blessed you. Otherwise, whose money is financing such privilege? God? Certainly not. The congregation? Bingo! Stop giving your money to these profit prophets! When your minister can live in a mansion and you go home to an apartment…oops! up side yo head! No wonder we later find that they divorce wives, engage in homosexuality and deny it, and can’t turn over their financial records to the authorities. I think that we put preachers to higher than God himself! We have to remember they are human and man first!
I have learned to deal with great loss my entire life and I have followed, wholeheartedly and unquestionably, the requirements of three of the major organized religions. I prayed, conformed, and searched their sacred texts for meaning and solace only to receive none as I watched others profess to receive direct messages from each religion’s main protagonist whose actions went contrary to the teachings of said religion. I eventuality came to the realization that, as hard as it might be to fathom it, we are ALL alone in THIS realm. Our so-called culture has a serious problem taking the face value of things way too serious. Some might even suggest that our people are held to a higher degree of blind faith and belief in that which has let us down since our inception in this forsaken land. If I have learned nothing from the European Caucasoid I have learned this: all gods fall before the one in whom he worships. Just look at how indigenous peoples have been manipulated to forsake their own “gods” to follow that of their colonizer, only to be slowly and imminently reduced suffering, nothingness, and waiting on a savior; and without the slightest aid from their original religious protagonist. Even the Afrikans that were originally stolen and shipped to this land to serve as beasts of burden, property, and/or animals to be used and discarded (and justified by the same god you now cling to for “salvation”) were Moslem yet just a few generations later their decedents pray to Yahushua (NOT Jesus because there is no “J” sound in Hebrew. The letter “J” is only about 500 years old and isn’t even found in the original 1611 King James version). Plus it means that Yahweh the real “god” of the B.I.B.L.E. (is Salvation).Many people choose to defend the curse of organized religion until the end. Just as many might have a strong desire to defend their beliefs I have a strong desire to know more than one or two or three long standing notions which may be erroneous yet will stand as a guide for the remainder of my life. What of the advanced civilizations which predate or modern world and the “gods” which perished in antiquity? What of Sumner and the ORIGINAL Sumerian texts which have been proven to be the root from which all current organized religions have snapped a branch from? I feel that when you allow your thoughts and actions to be governed by that which continually goes unchallenged, you disallow any other logical opinions or facts into your life. You cease to use our own mind and therefore regurgitate the ideals of another, thus allowing many grave injustices to go unpunished or just ignored. I am sorry but I reject this notion and I walk this realm with my head held up and my heart and mind open. Our men need to start respecting our women vice shamefully debase and objectify them. Does not the Scripture say, let US make man (and woman) in OUR image and likeness? Why do you think our women so easily accept the negative stereotypes and perpetuate their own downfall? Because they have been beat into submission, which is western civilization at its best… Finally, I believe knowledge and love of self and non-theism is the way to begin to seek the path right for yourself, not blindly following the sheep in front of you. It is what it is! However, if you possess an opened mind and are willing to seek your own truth rather than faithfully wait for a god to smite you with that which you seek, you might be surprised at how liberating true freedom is. Freedom of knowing that YOU have the power to get up, stand, and fight for your right (life); find true freedom and hypocrites, sexual deviants, perverts, pedophiles, extremists, and pulpit pimps (all of which organized religion is full of and condones the behavior of) will no longer delude you.

Hornbuckle was a pistol. Upon relocating to Texas, I looked for a church to call home. Went to his church one Sunday, the current week, he had gone to a business meeting to assist his members with the ability to purchase homes, low mortgage, etc. He opened the service in this manner. First the sic (First Lady) appeared, dressed to the nines, he spun her around, as if she was a trophy. (MY FIRST INKLING SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT HERE). She smiled, and took her seat next to his, on stage. Notice I said stage, to me this was all a drama. Then he proceeded to tell his members how he attended the meeting. He started like this, ” I dressed to impressed. I put on my $75 socks, my $150 tie, my $1600 suit, just to make my members look good. Then, I couldn’t decide which vehicle to take. So………. I decided to take one of my wife’s cars. Once inside, I was cruising, looking all around, the chicks were checking me out, of course, then it hit me….Hmmm, I could not believe I paid $76,000 for her car……
Anyway, once into the meeting, I arrived last of course. So that the loan folks could get the gist of how we roll……….Remember, I am representing you folks”. On and on he went. OUT the door I went. Never to go there again. Low and behold, a year later, the spit hit the fan. He raped his best friends step daughter. She was supposed to be his God daughter….what a crock. During all this crap, an anonymous person posted is bond. He got out, got caught the next day with drugs in his car, and was not going to see the probation officer as he should have. Was sent back to jail. Guess who was the head minister while all this crap was going on… First Lady of course. This mess went on and on for weeks. At last, JAIL!
This is not the first of the pastors who have come from T. D. Jakes ministry embroiled in mess. Another pastor here was proved to be gay, and married, committed suicide in a hotel here. Where was T.D. Jakes when these things happened. After all, they branched from his ministry. Anyway, it’s a shame when you cannot practice what you preach. Why not quit when you know that what you are doing is not Godly? These pastors C H O O S E the direction they are headed, no ones fault but their own. I had a dream that I went into a beauty salon to buy some hair products, when I entered into the store the shelves were bare and no products. I asked the manager why were they closing the store, she spoke and said, I am retiring and they are shutting the store down.
I prayed and asked God for the interpretation of the dream, He said; the beauty salon is the church, the hair products are the members, the store manager are the false pastor, the shelves are the barren soul, for the bare not the fruits of Christ in the soul, and He was shutting them down because they are serving a headless jesus. WOW. Unless God builds the house it is build in vain. They who build their own house rejected the cornerstone who is Jesus Christ and God is bringing them down.

1st of all we don’t really know what happened with Eddie Long and these fellas but I look at the fact that these so called ministers don’t even follow God’s Word for themselves yet try to teach a congregation of people who don’t seem to have common enough sense to know right from wrong. The bible plainly stated that God hates divorce, that if a man (or woman ) has a husband or wife and marries another, he or she is an adulterer. It also says that no adulterer or adulteress will enter into heaven yet these co called preachers have more than one wife or husband? There is nothing wrong with ministers or people of God being blessed financially but it always makes me wonder how do you have the love of Christ in you owning a yacht for millions of dollars while there are people starving, homeless etc. right in your old neighborhoods. We are only suppose to be passing through this world and trying to spread the good news about Christ but instead we are living to see how much we can aquire just like the world. I’m not saying we have to look raggedy and not have a decent home or car, I’m just saying do we have to have rolls royces, Bentleys, 25 room mansions and drip with diamonds to show the world that we are not just saved but rich? Jesus could have been living like a king but chose to be humble and live His life as an example as to how we are suppose to be yet we seem to always strive for what the world has to offer, a bunch of “things”. I’m not judging any of these men or anyone else but the bible does clearly say that what is done in the dark will be brought into the light so no one is fooling anyone else. God is not pleased and we need to ask Him for forgiveness…I would not allow myself to be under the ministry of a man who I know for a fact is a whoremonger, a homosexual, an adulterer, a rapists, womanizer or all about money not leading the lost to Christ. Read and study the bible for yourselves, seek God with all of your hearts, minds and strength. One day each and every one of us will come face to face with God and we sure can’t blame our Pastor or anyone else for the wrongs we have done in this life. God bless you all.
GOD IS JUST CLEANING HOUSE OF ALL THE PLAYERS.
Here is what is wrong with this entire picture. Instead of worshipping God and studying the bible, we worship the man,(preacher). We care more about pleasing the preacher than pleasing God. By reading some of these posts, you can tell who is a man or wowman of God (You have to kow the words first) in order to determine this. God is not pleased. The the black preachers have enslaved black America morer than any plantation owner I have read of. We have been taught that m oney will get us into heaven. Yo uwill see us throwing it at the preachers.How sad. God have mercy upon us and forgive us for worshipping men and lifting them up as our little gods. We will be punished. It is written.
I only have this to say about these men , they got to where they are because poeple support them in there wrong doings . (DONE)
Oprah Winfrey faced a similar issue with her school in South Africa. This is what Oprah did:
1. She told her audience what happened, first. You heard about this from Oprah.
2. She called for an investigation of the charges.
3. She went to the school and believed and supported the victims.
Oprah is not a minister, Oprah may not be a Christian, but her actions in this matter were right, good and moral.
Is the same true of Eddie Long?
The last one threw me for a loop. No one is touching Eddie Long’s scandal….too trife. I remember when those rumors came out about Hezekiah. I honestly didn’t know what to believe. But since there has been no proof I would have to say he’s straight until proven otherwise. This article is a clear case of trust God not man!!!!!!
Most people who are accused or suspected of any type of abuse on our young are removed from positions that allow them access to children ( for the love and protection of the children). Why do you, the members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church not protect and love your children? Do you love your Bishop more than your young people?
I understand that the Bishop also works closely with the
Dekalb County Schools, especially some football teams. It is worth questioning why the Bishop is so involved with a certain age and gender group. Any thinking person would wonder about these things. I understand “Black Church Think”. We are taught week after week to “Touch not my anointed” before we realize that when the leader continuosly sin he or she is not anointed of God.
Mothers, you usually fight for your children. Until this is resolved, please don’t let the rooster guard the hen house. Don’t support your Bishop at the expense of your children.
My Dad use to comment: Holiness is right if no one lives it.
Have enjoyed reading all of the comments. First, many of u need the assistance of Spellcheck. Second, many of u are correct, no man “called” by GOD needs a Million Dollar mansion or an expensive car 2 parade around in. Third, people love being a part of organizations where status & prestige make them part of the elite. Fourth, Eddie is as guilty as the day is long. If he were truly called by GOD, he would tell the truth since “the truth will set u free.” Fifth, it doesn’t matter whether these young men r after money or not – they were all exploited! Sixth, this will never make it 2 court due 2 a settlement which the church will be lied 2 and told it’s in their best interest(s). Lastly, have any of u ever received a “suggestive” photo of your religious leader? Have your sons?
